Velcro-style attachment has two sides that work together:

• Hook backing — the stiff, scratchy side. This is the backing on Alpinhound's hook-backed morale patches. The patch itself carries the hook, so it grips any loop-lined surface.
• Loop backing — the soft, fuzzy side. Alpinhound's loop-backed patches (and loop panels/fields) provide the receiving surface that hook-backed patches attach to.

In short: hook finds loop. Your patch (hook) sticks to a loop-lined surface, or your loop patch sticks to a hook-lined surface — never hook-to-hook or loop-to-loop.
